Trekr Terms of Service

Effective May 1, 2026

By creating a Trekr account or using the app, you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable. If something here isn't clear, email us at hello@trekrapp.com.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Trekr.
• Keep your password and Sign in with Apple credentials secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• Trekr accounts are personal. Don't share your account with someone else or create accounts for other people without their permission.

What you can post

• You can post text, photos, location, and expense data in treks you belong to. You're responsible for the legality and accuracy of what you post.
• You retain ownership of your content. By posting in a trek, you grant the other members of that trek (and us, only to operate the service) a non-exclusive license to view it.
• Zero tolerance. Trekr has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't post anything illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, infringing on someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to share.
• Moderation. You can report any message, comment, or content (long-press it in the app) and block any user. Blocking hides all of their content from you immediately and notifies us. We review every report within 24 hours and will remove offending content and eject users who violate these terms — with or without notice.

What treks can do

• A trek is a private space among its invited members. Members of the same trek can see each other's display name, profile photo, location (when sharing is on), and content posted in that trek.
• Anyone with a trek's 8-character invite code can join that trek. Treat invite codes carefully — anyone you share one with can join.

Location sharing

• Location sharing is opt-in per trek and can be turned off at any time in Trek Settings or by revoking the OS-level location permission.
• When sharing is on, your last known location is visible to other members of that specific trek. We do not share your location with anyone outside the treks you've joined.

Payments

• Trekr is free to use. The expense-splitting features track what your trek members owe each other but Trekr does not move money. Settling debts is arranged between you and the other member outside the app.

Service availability

• We work hard to keep Trekr available, but we don't promise it will be online 100% of the time. We may take the service down for maintenance, updates, or unexpected outages.
• We may change, add, or remove features. Material changes that affect how you use the app will be announced in-app.

Termination

• You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and the data you've posted, per the Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, abuses other users, or threatens the integrity of the service.

Disclaimer and liability

• Trekr is provided "as is." We don't warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the data it shows (locations, ETAs, weather, expense math) is always accurate. Decisions you make in the real world using Trekr — meeting up with someone, splitting a bill, navigating to a location — are your responsibility.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coast Creative's total liability for any claim related to Trekr is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free app is zero.

Governing law

• These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Changes to these terms

• If we update these terms in a meaningful way, we'll show a notice the next time you open the app. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms.
